MAPLE CAKE. MRS. C. C. CAMPBELL.
One cup sugar, two tablespoonfuls butter, two eggs (leaving out the
white of one), three-fourths cup cold water, two and one-half cups
flour, three teaspoonfuls baking powder.
FROSTING.--One-half cup maple syrup or sugar; boil to a taffy; pour
over the beaten white of one egg.
